Matt Thomson, owner of Thomson Litho, gave more than Ł5,000 to the Labour Party in 1997. Thomson Litho also gave the Labour Party more than Ł5,000 in sponsorship in the same year.

Thomson Litho, based in East Kilbride, is the largest independent printers in the UK. Matt Thomson is a Director of Motherwell FC (owned by John Boyle). In October 1998 he criticised the SNP, endorsing the Labour Party's devolution plan for Scotland as the best way to help business.
